Four new splash pads at various parks throughout the city of Abilene make up proposition seven of the 2015 bond projects.
Two splash pads opened in 2016; one at Scarborough Park, and a second Stevenson Park. Each of these 3,000-square-foot aquatic playgrounds has more than 20 interactive spray features, shaded seating areas, seating for parents, and restrooms. Ninety percent of the water at the splash pads is recaptured, treated, and recirculated.
The final two splash pads opened in 2018; one at Redbud Park, and the second at Sears Park. These splash pads also feature water slides, an interactive children's play area, restrooms, and shaded seating areas.
