You’re invited to a special author talk as we invite Kate Anger, all the way from California, who will be here to discuss her book “The Shinnery,” inspired by an actual nineteenth-century honor killing in Stonewall County, Texas. In a novel related to the author’s family history, it traces a young woman’s betrayal by family and employers, and her path toward revenge and redemption. According to her website, Anger is a writer of fiction, non-fiction, and plays who has a preoccupation with the West and stories of people who are looking to begin again. She also teaches playwriting and theatre courses at the University of California Riverside and will be on hand to also share tips for anyone out there wishing to become a published author. This event will be hosted over the noon hour so feel free to bring your lunch and attend a great author meet & greet. Copies of the book will be available for purchase before and after the event, thanks to our friends at Texas Star Trading Company.
