Be a part of Retro Flix at your library, the bi-monthly movie series where we show hit flix from the 80s and 90s to relive the popular movies of the past. At this session, we’re going back to the year 1994 and watching one of the many live-action adaptations of the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott. We’ll be showing “Little Women” starring Susan Sarandon and Winona Ryder. This film provides an autobiographical account of Alcott’s life with her three sisters in Concord, Massachusetts in the 1860s. With their father fighting in the American Civil War, sisters Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth are at home with their mother, a very outspoken woman for her time. The story tells of how the sisters grow up, find love, and find their place in the world. This film is rated PG for two uses of mild language and has a run time of 1 hour and 55 minutes.
