On Monday, August 9, 2021 at approximately 06:00 am members of the Abilene Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 1200 block of Shelton Street. On arrival, crews found a single story, single family dwelling with smoke and fire coming from the front of the structure. Crews made a quick attack on the fire and quickly brought the fire under control. There were four occupants inside at the time of the fire. All occupants were able to exit the structure without injury. The fire remains under investigation and the estimated value of damage is $50,000.
