On January 1, 2022 at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 900 block of South Crockett. Crews arrived to find a single family residence with smoke showing from the back of the house. Crews made a quick attack and stopped the fire from spreading into the interior of the structure. The fire was contained to the back outside wall of the residence. There were no residents home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the estimated value of damage is $5,000.
