Did you know your library offers study rooms and quiet spaces for you to study, host a small group for discussion, use our Wi-Fi for a Zoom meeting/interview/call, or any number of reasons? These spaces are available for adults to use, and they’re offered free of charge during library hours.
Your South Branch Library offers three private study rooms (two rooms for four people, one room for six) and they’re available to be reserved for 2-hour sessions. Sign-up for an available room in person, or reserve a room up to 24-hours in advance. Each room comes with a table and chairs, outlets and USB ports for power, and a dry erase board (see staff for markers). To reserve a room, or for questions, contact staff at 325-698-7565.
This location also offers a Quiet Reading Room that’s open to the public all day long. This room comes with two tables seating four people each, as well as additional comfy chairs and end tables. This room remains unlocked through the day, so feel free to slide open the glass door and grab a spot to study or read during library hours.
The Main Library offers a study room available in the basement. Much like the South Branch, this room may be reserved for a 2-hour session and comes with a table seating four people, as well as a TV that you can connect a laptop to via an HD cord. Ask to use the room on your next visit, or call ahead and book the room to make sure it’s available when you arrive. To reserve the room, call staff at 325-676-6025.
Finally, the Mockingbird Branch Library may not offer a private study room, but a Quiet Study Room is available for use during library hours, and if not being used for a library program. This enclosed space comes with two tables, seating four people each, and has a door that you can close off from the rest of the library. Much like the Quiet Reading Room at the South Branch, these spaces are for quiet use and we ask that guests not make unnecessary noises or take phone calls while others are using the room.
Remember, these study rooms and quiet spaces are available during the library’s regular hours of operation and may be used free of charge. Feel free to check them out on your next visit.
