On February 25, 2022 at 1:43 p.m., the Abilene Fire Department responded to a potential gas leak on S 27th St. and Woodard. Atmos Energy was already in the area when fire department crews arrived on scene. After investigation crews determined that Atmos is replacing a 10 inch natural gas line. Atmos crews will be on scene in this area until the gas line is replaced. The Abilene Fire Department will be monitoring the area until the line is replaced.
