On March 8, 2022 at approximately 9:45 p.m. the Abilene Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire located on the 3400 block of Silver Oaks Drive. AFD fire crews arrived to heavy smoke and flames showing around the chimney area of a two story residential structure. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. There was moderate exterior and interior damage to the structure. Occupants of the structure evacuated prior to AFD arrival. No injuries to occupants or AFD crews. Damages are estimated at $30,000.
