[ARCHIVED] Homicide Suspect Charged

UPDATE 2: Abilene Police Detectives with Major Investigations have charged 20-year-old Aashaud McVea of Abilene, with Homicide and Aggravated Assault this afternoon, in connection with the homicide on south La Salle. He is also charged with Aggravated Assault for allegedly shooting the juvenile, who remains in the hospital in critical condition. His bond is set at $300,000. He remains in Taylor County. 

 

UPDATE 1: The next of kin notification has been made on the victim in this morning's Homicide. He is identified as 19-year-old Isaiah Arellano of Abilene. This investigation is ongoing; however, a person of interest in the shooting has been taken into custody on unrelated charges. The second shooting victim remains in the hospital in critical condition. No further information is being released at this time.

 Abilene Police Investigating Early Morning Homicide

 ABILENE, TX – A 19-year-old male died at the hospital of injuries sustained when he and a juvenile male were shot outside a home located in the 400 block of South La Salle Dr. Police were called out to the home at 12:46 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, for an injured subject call. Homeowners reported hearing several gunshots. When officers arrived, they discovered two males who were both shot outside the home. A 19-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. A second victim, a 16-year-old juvenile was also transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He is listed in critical condition. The suspect or suspects fled the scene after the shooting.

 Detectives with the Major Investigations Bureau are working to identify a possible suspect or suspects.
