[ARCHIVED] Two Officers Graduate FBI’s Hazardous Devices School

Bomb Techs

ABILENE, TX – Two Abilene Police Department Officers graduated from a six-week class designed to help their community become safer. Officers Jeremiah Shaeffer and Austin Graves, both Abilene Bomb Technicians, graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Hazard Devices School in Huntsville, Alabama. The class is offered to Bomb Technicians across the country and helps their local Law Enforcement Agencies become safer by training technicians on identifying and diffusing possible threats.

The Abilene Police Department’s Bomb Squad serves a 21-county area surrounding the Abilene area. It is made up of six certified bomb technicians. They intervene on the behalf of the public, to assist Abilene and outside agencies in the safe handling, disarming, and recovery of explosive, suspicious, or hoax devices.

 Respectfully,

 Rick Tomlin
