[ARCHIVED] Structure Fire: 3000 Block of South 8th

Structure Fire - Abilene Fire Department News

On Friday, August 5, 2022 at approximately 11:10 am, crews with the Abilene Fire Department were dispatched to the 3000 block of South 8th Street in reference to a residential structure fire. While in route to the incident location, crews were advised to stage on arrival due to an ongoing incident with the Abilene Police Department and the resident of the home. When fire crews arrived on scene, they observed smoke coming from the front door and front windows of the structure. After staging briefly, the Abilene Fire Department was directed by the Abilene Police Department that they had one individual in custody and that they were able to move up to the incident location. A quick attack was made and the fire was quickly brought under control. The resident of the home did sustain injury during the incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment and for evaluation. The fire was determined to be incendiary in nature. The estimated loss was $15,000.
