If there’s one area of the Abilene Public Library we’d like to spread the word about, it’s our makerspace at your Main Library (202 Cedar St). Dubbed The Creation Station, this is a community workspace offering a variety of tools and equipment for public use in making a variety of projects. We're steadily adding new items to our makerspace and our latest tool is a Hat Heat Press. Using a plain hat, you’ll be able to use this tool to add flair to it, personalizing your headwear so it reflects your own unique style. We’re inviting you to join us on Wednesday, August 24 from between 10AM to Noon as we debut this new item in the makerspace. Come with a plain hat in hand and we’ll have a variety of pre-made designs for you to choose from so we can show you how to adhere them to your hats.
It’s a come-and-go event so you’re not required to stay the full two hours. Instead we’ll be taking in people as they come and showing them how this new tool works. While you’re there, we invite you to take a look at all the other tools we have to offer as well. The makerspace at your library is available during our hours of operation, and open to the public to use.
We invite you to our Hat Heat Press workshop on Wednesday, August 24 from 10AM to Noon, and get started with using this community workspace for yourself.
