On August 20, 2022 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Abilene fire Department responded to a call of a vehicle fire in the 500 block of West Overland Trail. Crews arrived to find a semi-tractor on fire and the two parked next to it starting to burn. This fire was immediately upgraded to a single alarm response for man power purposes. An attack was made on the fire and brought under control in a short amount of time. There was no one at the vehicles at the time of the fire. All together there were three vehicles damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the estimated amount of damage is $200,000.
