Lib-Con is headed your way at your Main Library on Saturday, October 8. Celebrating fandoms, gaming, anime, manga, superheroes, and more, staff has planned a great series of events and activities for the community to enjoy.
Did you know you can contribute to Lib-Con in a more active way than attending? We’re looking for some local enthusiasts who may be interested in leading a panel discussion, or even an event, at Lib-Con this year. If that sounds like you, take a look at our Lib-Con Panel/Event Application Form online.
Do you know the MCU timeline inside and out and have a theory as to the direction of the films in the future? Are you great at creating costumes for a cosplay character and want to share your tips and techniques with others? Whatever your talents may be, we want you to sign-up with us for a chance to lead your session at Lib-Con.
We must remind you that Lib-Con is a family-friendly event so your content should be at the level of PG, and no higher, to be appealing to our guests. Other items to consider include:
- Panelists must be at least 16-years-old.
- You may submit to lead more than one panel.
- The Lib-Con Committee reserves the right to choose what panels are accepted.
- Panels may be filmed/photographed for use by the Abilene Public Library on our website, social media, or print media.
Additional information will be asked of you including identifying your contact information, the length of your program, what you’ll need for your setup, choosing an available time slot, naming your program, providing a little of your knowledge on this topic, what the panel is about, and for what age group the topic is for.
We’ve had guests from the community lead panel discussions in the past, and we love being able to give you a platform to talk about the things you’re passionate about. So if you’d like to lead a panel discussion or event at Lib-Con this year, be sure to Sign-Up Online now!!! If accepted to present, you’ll be doing so on Saturday, October 8 at your Main Library. For more information about this opportunity, contact Ellene Cudd or Amanda Sasser at 325-677-2474.
