Your Abilene Public Library is pleased to be partnering with the Abilene Police Department to attend National Night Out, running on Tuesday, October 4 from 5:30PM to 8:00PM in the police department’s parking lot located at 4565 S. 1st St. We had a great time participating in this community event last year, and jumped at the opportunity to return this year. Staff will be on hand to tell you about what your library has to offer everyone.
This national campaign is designed to strengthen ties within the community and the local police department to make our neighborhoods safer. Come out to meet local law enforcement and get to see a little on what they do to help foster positive interactions between officers and the citizens.
Hosted in many states across the country, we celebrate this event on the first Tuesdays in October in Texas, and the community will be treated to a host of activities and community booths. While you’re out enjoying the evening, stop by the library’s booth where we’ll have great information to pass out and share with everyone, and possibly a fun game where youth can win some prizes too!
We invite everyone to come out and see us, as well as participate in the National Night Out festivities, again being hosted on Tuesday, October 4 from 5:30PM to 8:00PM and free for the community to attend. Let’s show our support for our local law enforcement, learn more about how they keep us safe, and help build stronger communities in the process. We hope to see you there!
