[ARCHIVED] Abilene City Council approves Honey Bee Water Line Replacement Project

City of Abilene Texas

ABILENE, Texas – The Abilene City Council Thursday approved an $828,696 bid award to Starks Construction Company, Inc., for work planned at properties around Lake Fort Phantom Hill.

The Honey Bee Road Water Line Replacement Project, CB-2320, will replace an existing 10-inch pipeline with PVC pipe.

The project is funded by water utility funds designated for capital improvement projects.

It includes relocation of several customer water meters to the edge of new property line boundaries established during the sale of previously-leased lake lots.

The line replacement project is part of preparation for a roadway improvement project to realign Honey Bee Road.

That project will improve roadway surface and residents’ access to the reconfigured residential lake lots.
