Structure Fire: 1100 Block of Plum Street

Structure Fire - Abilene Fire Department News

On January 29, 2023 at approximately 6:20 a.m., the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 1100 block of Plum Street. Crews arrived to find a storage building in the rear of the residence fully involved with fire. The fire had started to extend to another storage building sitting to the west of the first. Crews were able to stop the advance of the fire to the second building. The original storage building was a total loss. The investigation found a small heater was the cause of the fire. There were no occupants in the structure at the time of the fire. The estimated damages are $10,000 and the fire is determined to be accidental.
