ZipZone-Aug28

CityLink is pleased to announce the addition of an on-demand public ridesharing service called ZipZone. Through the ZipZone app, public transit users can request, book, and pay for on-demand rideshare service from any mobile device, much like other well-known ridesharing apps and services.

ZipZone service is currently available in the northwest area of Abilene, and includes transportation to popular destinations like the Christian Service Center, Criminal Justice Department Parole Office, Day Nursery of Abilene Sherry Lane, Five Points Industrial Park, Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library, and United Supermarket at North 10th and Willis.

ZipZone is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., excluding major holidays. The cost of each ride is $3.00 (exact change needed for cash transactions),  or a valid day pass purchased on a fixed route bus.

Riders can request a ride by downloading the ZipZone app available in the App Store or Google Play, or by calling (325) 676-6287, option 2.

Trips can be requested and scheduled within as little as two hours, or as much as seven days in advance, if capacity  is available.

CityLink’s fixed bus routes 9 and 10 will operate concurrently with ZipZone through the end of September 2023.  During this time, CityLink riders can also transfer to and from ZipZone and the fixed route system on routes 9, 10, and 12 at the designated transfer points of Wash-this-Way (route 9), Walgreens (route 10), and N. Mockingbird & N. 12th bus stop (route 12).
