Abilene, Texas – On Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 10:19 p.m. police dispatch received a call of an injured subject in the 1600 block of Graham St. in North Abilene. A juvenile female was injured from a gunshot while inside her home. The gunshot originated outside the residence.
A suspect vehicle was located a short time later by police. Two individuals, an adult and a juvenile, were detained for questioning.
Elmer Rodriguez, 17 years-of-age, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is being held at the Taylor County Jail. The juvenile was also taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Juvenile Detention Center.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and was later CareFlighted to the Metroplex due to the severity of her injuries.
Detectives located a third suspect this morning. Nicholas Baker, 17 years-of-age, who was arrested and charged with Second Degree Felony Aggravated Assault. He is being held at the Taylor County Jail. This investigation is ongoing.
