Structure Fire: 2800 Block of Sayles

On November 6th 2019 at 0345 the Abilene Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire at the Maison Blanche Apartments at the 2800 block of Sayles. After crews arrived on scene the structure fire was quickly updated to a third alarm fire. The fire was tapped out at around 0930 this morning. Residents of the apartment were evacuated and no injuries have been reported. At this time twelve units have been affected by the fire, displacing around twenty residents. CityLink is transporting affected residents to different facilities that have offered shelter and the Red Cross is on scene providing assistance. South 27th and South 28th streets are closed between Buffalo Gap Rd. and Sayles Blvd. The fire is currently under investigation and the estimated damage is $325,000. Updated information will be provided when it becomes available.
