Structure Fire: 4800 Block of Mary Lou

On November 15, 2019, at approximately 10:15 a.m. the Abilene Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 4800 block of Mary Lou. Fire crews arrived to find a single story dwelling with light smoke showing. Fire crews gained access to the interior of the home where they encountered moderate smoke, and fire on and around the kitchen stove. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire and ventilate the home. The occupant was not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The damage is estimated at $20,000. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
