On April 19, 2020 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the Abilene Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 800 block of Peach Street. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames showing at the rear of the residence and a second alarm was called for additional support. The fire extended into the attic space and was ultimately extinguished. Three residents were home at the time of the fire and were able to get out without injury. Estimated value of loss is $10,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
