For the second year, the Mockingbird Branch Library will participate in the Free Summer Lunch program offered by the Abilene Hunger Coalition. With the mission of providing food for Abilene during the AISD summer feeding gap, this year will be different in that food will be offered to anyone in need of food assistance, regardless of age.
The Free Summer Food program will run at 12 different sites in the community from July 27 through August 14. The Mockingbird Branch Library, located at 1326 N. Mockingbird Ln., will not be open to the public during this time. If desiring to participate in this program, kit will be offered outside as a curb-side, grab-and-go program from 11:30AM to 12:45PM. Drive by in your car to pick up your lunch or you may also walk-up.
Again, the Free Summer Lunch program will be available to anyone in the community from July 27 through August 14 from 11:30AM to 12:45PM at your Mockingbird Branch Library (1326 N. Mockingbird Ln.).
