Traffic interruptions begin August 1st along Buffalo Gap Road

Buffalo Gap traffic interruptions begin August 1 as water crews prepare for TXDOT widening of road

Work is scheduled to begin for the relocation of water utility lines on FM 89/Buffalo Gap Road beginning August 1, 2020. The utility line relocation is in preparation for a TxDOT project which will widen the road from South Clack to Chimney Rock Road.

Areas that will be significantly impacted include the intersection at FM 89/Buffalo Gap Road and Rebecca Lane, and the intersection of FM 89/Buffalo Gap Road and Chimney Rock Road.

Construction will take place between normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Work will not be permitted on weekends or holidays, unless otherwise authorized by the City’s water department administration. 

The City will provide information regarding traffic controls and road closures throughout the project on the City website (, as well as its Facebook and Twitter social media pages. Drivers should expect to encounter traffic interruptions and plan to take alternate routes if possible.
