Structure Fire: 800 Block of Butternut Street

On August 29th, 2020 at approximately 5:57 a.m., the Abilene Fire Department responded to a non-residential structure fire at the 800 block of Butternut Street. Crews arrived to find an abandoned commercial building with light smoke showing. Fire crews made entry into the structure and were able to quickly extinguish a small, interior contents fire. The building sustained minimal structural damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the estimated value of damage is $2000.
