Abilene City Manager Robert Hanna is pleased to announce the City’s Police Chief Search Committee has named three finalists for the position of Abilene Chief of Police.
The three finalists, in alphabetical order by last name, are as follows:
Roberto Arredondo, Major – Northeast Patrol Division Commander, Dallas, Texas Police Department
Marcus Dudley, Jr., Division Chief – Policy and Compliance, Aurora, Colorado Police Department
Mark Francisco, Deputy Chief – Investigations Bureau, Kansas City, Missouri Police Department
The Police Chief Search Committee met and selected the three finalists for submission to Mr. Hanna on Friday, September 11. The next step in the selection process will include a meet and greet opportunity with the Abilene Police Department, City Council, and other community stakeholders. It is anticipated that this will occur within the first two weeks of October.
“The Search Committee, led by former APD Chief Melvin Martin at my request, has done an outstanding job in identifying three finalists. It is now time to find the final candidate that best fits the needs of our community and the department,” said Mr. Hanna, who will make the final choice for Abilene’s next Chief of Police in consultation with former APD Chief Martin and other key community stakeholders.
Mr. Hanna anticipates a final selection for Abilene Chief of Police will be made within the month of October or early November at the latest.
