[ARCHIVED] Fatal Crash in North Abilene

Fatal Crash Web News Flash

– A 30-year-old female from Abilene was killed in a vehicle crash in North Abilene. Dispatch received the call of a crash in the 3600 block of Pine St. at around 2 p.m. involving a silver Ford Mustang and a refuse truck. The Mustang was stopped at Huckleberry Lane and proceeded to cross Pine Street heading west. A refuse truck heading south on Pine St. collided with the Mustang, hitting it on the passenger side. Both vehicles ended up resting on Pine St. 30-year-old Brandy Chappa, who was in the passenger seat, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace. The driver of the Mustang was taken to Hendrick Medical Center with serious injuries. He was listed in critical condition. No citations have been issued and this investigation is ongoing. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Next of Kin has been made.
