On December 20, 2020 at approximately 0220, the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 1200 block of Sayles Boulevard. Crews arrived to find a residential structure with nothing showing. The first in crew investigated and found the home was filled with smoke. The crew entered the structure and found the source of the smoke and found that the fire had extinguished itself. The fire was confined to one room in the structure and was determined to be electrical. There were to occupants at home at the time, and both were able to evacuate without injury. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical and the estimated damage was $250.
