Update: Abilene Police arrested 58-year-old Wanda Rani Hebert of Abilene for the fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Sunday, January 31. She is charged with Second Degree Felony Accident Involving Death. She is currently being held at the Taylor County Jail.
ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Police were called to the 3200 Block of South Treadaway Blvd. at around 6 a.m. after a passerby discovered a person lying in the middle of the road. Officers arrived to find a male who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. He was deceased. Traffic investigators began processing the scene. The male has been identified as 43-year-old Calvin Eugene Roberts III of Abilene. There were no witnesses to the crash, and investigators are asking if anyone has any information to contact the non-emergency number, 673-8331.
