On February 6, 2021 at approximately 4:37 pm, the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire located at the 1000 block of South 12th Street. Crews arrived to find the rear of the structure on fire with heavy smoke and flames showing. A fast attack was made and the fire was quickly extinguished. The resident was not home at the time of the fire, the house suffered heavy smoke and fire damage throughout the residence. The fire remains under investigation at this time damage is estimated to be $15,000.00.
