ABILENE, TX – Detectives with the Abilene Police Department are investigating a former AISD Instructional Aide for an allegation of Injury to a Child. APD was notified by Child Protective Services on October 31, of the alleged incident which had occurred on October 29, 2019 on the campus of Craig Middle School.
Detectives with the Special Victims Unit opened an investigation. The subsequent investigation showed evidence to support the allegation. Detectives filed formal charges of Injury to a Child against the former teacher’s aide. The case was presented to the District Attorney’s office for consideration of charges. This investigation is ongoing.
A second investigation is also ongoing regarding an administrator for failing to report as required by state law.
