On March 10, 2021 at approximately 4:48 am the Abilene Fire department responded to a Hotel structure fire located in the 800 block of East Hwy 80. Crews arrived to find light smoke coming from an upstairs room, no one was in the room at the time and crews forced the door open to gain access. Upon entry a mattress and some clothing were found to be on fire inside the room. The fire was quickly extinguished, all other occupants of the building were safely evacuated without injury. The cause of the fire remains under investigation estimated value of damage is $100.00.
