On March 28th, 2021 at approximately 4:00 pm, the Abilene Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 800 block of Mesquite street. Crews arrived to find a multi-family triplex with smoke showing from the upstairs vents. The crews made a quick interior attack and extinguished the fire. The damage was limited to one upstairs room. The residents were able to self-evacuate before crews arrived. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the estimated value of the damage is $3000.
