ABILENE, TX – A sixty-year-old Abilene man was killed when a vehicle collided with the motorized bicycle he was riding. The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021, in the 4000 block of Pine Street in north Abilene.
60-year-old Juan Martinez Jr. of Abilene was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was traveling south on Pine St. when a 2000 Toyota Corolla struck the bicycle from behind. Martinez suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Justice of the Peace. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in this crash. No citations have been issued and next of kin notification has been made.
