We have a summer full of Harry Potter fun planned at the Abilene Public Library! First up, the Main Library (202 Cedar St.) is showing all eight Harry Potter films, one each week (except for CALF week). Accompanying the movies will be Harry Potter themed crafts. Stop by the Main Library on Wednesday afternoons to catch this program! Movie starts at 1:30PM, with craft supplies available from 1:30PM to 5:30PM.
- June 1: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
- June 16: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- June 23: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
- June 30: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- July 7: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- July 14: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
- July 21: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
- July 28: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Ever wondered what it would be like to visit the Wizarding World? You can get a small taste by visiting the Wizarding Room of Wonders! After each movie ends, we'll open the Wizarding Room of Wonders for you to explore, take photos, and get a sneak peek at all the new Harry Potter books that will be added to the library's collection after the end of summer. This room is only accessible on Wednesdays after the Harry Potter movie ends, so come early, watch a movie, make a crafts, and have lots of wizarding fun!

We also have some fun planned for the online realm, so everyone can get their Harry Potter fix, even if you can't come to the library in person. Got the library's Summer Reading Club site or Facebook Page to find our Horcrux Hunt! This is a game of riddles, whereyou get a new riddle each week. The answers are all horcruxes - but you must guess the right one! If you prefer to play in-person, you can pick up a riddle-tracker at any location. Just fill in the riddle answers, include your name and contact information, and submit the completed riddle-tracker to any library location by July 31st to get your name into the prize drawing!
If you have any questions, or would like to know more about the programs offered this summer, please contact the library at 325-676-6025.
