This card is Valid for 1-year at an annual fee of $10 with access to all the same services of the General Library Card and is for all Texas residents not residing in the City of Abilene or military. Although all Texas residents may acquire this library card, you must be present at the library to do so.
This card allows access to library computers only.
TexShare Cards give access to statewide library card that lets you borrow materials from more than 500 Texas libraries. You may acquire one at any library branch with a valid library card. If enrolled in the program outside of Taylor County, present us with your TexShare Card to receive our library card at no charge. You may borrow two items, except DVDs. These cards do not grant access to our Digital Services.
You may apply for a temporary library card, valid for 3 weeks, and you'll be limited to 2 items for checking out. Once we receive verification of your address, staff will modify your record to a permanent card.
Effective October 1, 2018 there are no late fees for overdue materials. Due dates will still be utilized on all materials checked out. If you have three or more items currently overdue on your account, you will not be able to checkout new materials until the overdue items are returned.
Replacement cards are $1. Library staff will need to view your Photo ID to access your account. Minors will be allowed to verify their contact information.
Yes. To checkout library materials the library card must be presented to library staff if the primary cardholder is not present. All family members are able to acquire their own library card if needed.

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is used to access your account online and/or use the self-checkout stations. If you do not register for a PIN, contact library staff. PINs can be a combination of letters and numbers (not case-sensitive) and must be at least 4-characters long.
Yes. Contact us and staff will ask for your 13-digit library card number to renew materials. Materials may not be renewed if there is an outstanding hold on the item(s) or if you've reached your renewal limit.
Yes. Students attending Abilene Christian, Hardin-Simmons, or McMurry universities may use your student/faculty/staff ID as your public library card. Likewise, public library cardholders have borrowing privileges at the three university libraries; however, you will be limited to 5 items at a time.
Contact library staff at 325-677-2474 or visit your nearest branch and report it to staff. We may then update your account to require a Photo ID for checkout and issue you a new library card for $1. If you do not report your library card lost/stolen, you will be held responsible for items checked out or returned late.
