Teen Room 05The Teen Room at the South Branch Library is open during the library's hours of operation and is a unique space within the facility.  In its own enclosed room, you'll find the young adult collection at the library.  Also located in this room are three computers available for public use with a library card that grants access to the Internet and word processing tools.

Great teen-friendly and colorful seating is located throughout the room including a sectional sofa area, cafe tables, lounge chairs, and gaming chairs that are the most comfortable chairs you could ever sit in.  Another unique feature about this space is a textured lit color wall that changes colors throughout the day. This room also has its own lighting system that can be controlled for various types of programming.

Storage space can be found, accessible by staff, that houses access to board games and gaming consoles including the PlayStation 4 and XBox One for gaming sessions on the two wall-mounted flat screen televisions.  When not in use, these televisions display information about library programming and services, but is also connected to the VDesk studio in the meeting room to display activities going on in that room, as well as show movies.

This space is used for select library programming for teens, and at times it is available to be used by groups on a select basis.  For more information about this room, contact staff at 325-698-7565.
