1. Can a property owner build or repair his own sidewalk and/or driveway approach?: Yes, however, he must have a current $1,000 Street Contractor's Bond, obtain a permit from the City Engineer's Office and comply with the City of Abilene Construction Standards.

2. If my sidewalk is in bad condition, can I just remove it without replacing it?: No, if a sidewalk is in place and in bad condition it is the property owner's responsibility to repair or replace it.
