We’ll supply all the materials you’ll need to build whatever you can think of, and offer resources for all the different items you can build with these simple building blocks. We’ll spend the majority of the program working on our creations, and then we’ll reserve some time at the end of the program to admire what everyone has built.   2. Family Flix: "The Angry Birds Movie 2" (South Branch)

    Kids and parents are invited to join your South Branch Library for a great mid-morning movie. This time around, we’re watching the second installment in the films based on a popular gaming app with “The Angry Birds Movie 2.” In this film, the flightless birds are back, as well as the scheming green pigs, and they’re taking their feud to the next level in this film. Doing very well in theaters, this film has a run time of 1 hour and 37 minutes and is rated PG for some rude humor and action.   3. Saturday Matinee: "Judy" (South Branch)

    Catch a great movie during the South Branch Library’s Saturday Matinee event where we play great hits. At this session we’ll be watching a great biopic starring Renee Zellweer in the lead role as “Judy.” In this film, the legendary performer Judy Garland arrives in London in the winter of 1968 to perform a series of sold-out concerts. This film is rated PG-13 for substance abuse, thematic content, some strong language, and smoking and has a run time of 1 hour and 58 minutes. Receiving great responses from critics and moviegoers alike, this appears to be one of the movies to see, if you haven’t already..     Looking to catch a recently released flick to DVD? Come out to your Mockingbird Branch Library as we’ll be showing 2019’s “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” a dramedy starring Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson. This film follows a young man with Down Syndrome who escapes from an assisted living facility to make his dream of becoming a professional wrestler come true. He befriends a wayward fisherman on the run, and has the two men form a rapid bond, a social worker attempts to track them. This movie is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 1 hour and 37 minutes.   5. Pokemon Meetup (South Branch)

    Join us for an afternoon of gaming fun! Designed for both new and experienced players, all are welcome to be a part of this weekly meet up where we gather to play the Pokemon Card Game. Gameplay will be for youth from 1:30PM to 2:30PM, then teens and adults from 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Pokemon has something for everyone, so come out, bring your cards, and be ready to battle it out at your library.     As more people acquire smartphones, tablets, and laptops, you may find yourself needing a little help. If that’s you, join us for TECH (Technology Enrichment & Collaborative Help) Time at your library. Sessions will be hosted on a weekly basis at your South Branch Library where our tech gurus will help you to navigate your way through learning to use your devices and answering your tech-related questions. If you need help learning to use our digital services, learning to use features on your devices, experiencing a problem, etc., we’ll do our best to help you learn and resolve the issues you’re experiencing. We may not have all the answers, but we’ll certainly do our best to help. Guests will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 20-minutes if others are waiting.   7. Imagination Lab: DIY Crystals (Main Library)

    Youth won’t want to miss the next Imagination Lab session at your Main Library where we get hands-on with great projects that have you thinking, imagining, and creating. At this afternoon session, will be making DIY Crystals. Youth will learn how to create a snowflake or flower using simple chenille sticks. Then we’ll put them in jars, fill them with a borax solution, and see how they crystallize. This process won’t be immediate so you’ll need to take it home and watch it over the next couple of days, then you will see the sticks covered in amazing crystals.
