  1. South STEAM: Straw Mazes

    Get ready for another interactive STEAM session for youth at your South Branch Library. Designed for kids of all ages, each month offers a new project to tackle. This time around, we’re going to highlight Straw Mazes. We’ll supply you with the materials needed so you can construct your very own maze to challenge others to see if they can complete successfully.   2. Pokemon Meetup

    Join us for an afternoon of gaming fun! Designed for both new and experienced players, gamers from their tweens to adults are welcome to be a part of this weekly meetup where we gather to play the Pokemon Card Game. Pokemon has something for everyone, so come out, bring your cards, and be ready to battle it out at your library. Instruction will also be available for those interested in learning how to play, and once you do, you’ll be challenging everyone else in no time.     As more people acquire smartphones, tablets, and laptops, you may find yourself needing a little help. If that’s you, join us for TECH (Technology Enrichment & Collaborative Help) Time at your library. Sessions will be hosted on a weekly basis at your South Branch Library where our tech gurus will help you to navigate your way through learning to use your devices and answering your tech-related questions. We may not have all the answers, but we’ll certainly do our best to help. Guests will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 20-minutes if others are waiting.   5. Take & Make Crafts

    The Library wants to help you get your craft on! Every Thursday, you are welcome to come into the library and pick up a craft packet to Take & Make at home.     Kids and parents are invited to join your South Branch Library for a great mid-morning movie. This time we’re watching 2004’s “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar. In this film, the Mystery Inc. gang must save Coolsville from an attack of past unmasked monsters brought to life by an evil masked figure trying to “unmask” the gang. This film is rated PG for some scary action, rude humor, and language, and has a run time of 1 hour and 33 minutes. Light snacks will be served, or feel free to bring your own snacks to the show.   7. Saturday Matinee: "Kong: Skull Island"

    Catch a great movie during the South Branch Library’s Saturday Matinee event where we play great hits. At this session we’ll be showing 2017’s “Kong: Skull Island” starring Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson. In this monastery movie, after the Vietnam War, a team of scientists explore an uncharted island in the Pacific, venturing into the domain of the mighty Kong, and must fight to escape a primal Eden. This film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and brief strong language, and has a run time of 1 hour and 58 minutes.
