  2. Country Western Dance Lessons | Cobb Recreation

    It's time to two-step on over to our country western dancing classes! This class teaches you how to Texas Two-Step, Waltz, Polka, Schottische, and more. All skill levels are welcome to join in our class, everyone will learn something! Classes will be held at Cobb Recreation Center from 6:30 to 8:00pm starting January 6, continuing for 8 weeks with no class on January 20, and ending on March 2. It's $45 per couple or $33 per individual, and you can register online at the My Parks and Recreation website.

  3. Basic Dog Manners Obedience Class

    February 25, 2020, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Cobb Recreation Center

    This class is for dogs aged 7 months and up. For your dogs safety, they must have completed all of their puppy shots prior to the first class.You will need to bring proof of shots with you the first day of class. Please bring flat or training collar and a six foot leash, as well as any treats your dog loves! Dogs do accompany owners the first day of class. You will learn how to build a relationship with your dog that will keep him eager to work with you! In this class, your dog will learn basic manners: - Down - Heeling - Manners when meeting others - Place - Recalls - Settle - Sit - Stays - Touch This class focuses on accomplishing the elements to pass the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) Test. The CGC test is offered, free of charge, to those participants who would like to test on the last day of class. Maximum of 10 dogs per class, $65 per dog.   4. Puppy Obedience Class

    February 25, 2020, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Cobb Recreation Center

    This class is for puppies aged 4 to 6 months. For your puppy’s safety, they must have completed all of their puppy shots prior to the first class. The only exception is rabies prior to 6 months of age (as some veterinarians will not administer the rabies vaccine until 6 months). You will need to bring proof of shots with you the first day of class. In this class, you will learn training techniques that will seem like "fun and games" to your puppy but will actually be building a strong foundation of excellent manners! Your puppy will learn to: - Begin the stays - Being polite around other dogs - down - Meeting strangers - Recall exercises - Settle - Sit Your puppy will gain confidence through positive reinforcement and the gentle use of instability equipment. Please bring a flat or training collar and a six foot leash, as well as, any treats or kibble your puppy loves! Maximum of 10 dogs per class, $65 per dog.   7. Youth Dog Training Class

    This FUN class is designed for youth ages 6 to 15 and their dogs! This class will follow the format of the ALL FUR FUN class. It is designed for young handlers to test their abilities to work with their dogs and find fun ways to interact while trying several different dog sports! Each week you will get to try a different dog sport: - Obedience - Rally - Agility - Fitness - Scent - Barn Hunt For your dog’s safety, they must have completed all of their shots prior to the first class. You will need to bring proof of shots DHLPP + Rabies (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, and parainfluenza) with you to the first class. **All breeds are welcome, as long as the Youth is able to maintain control of the dog at all times** Please bring a flat or training collar and a six foot leash, as well as any treats your dog loves! Maximum of 6 dogs per class, $65 per dog. Register online at the My Parks and Recreation website.
