  1. Mockingbird Movies: "The Help"

    February 20, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ Activity Room

Looking to catch a free movie at your library? Come out to the Mockingbird Branch and join us for a great evening showing of the hit film “The Help,” starring Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone, and Jessica Chastain, which was adapted from the best seller of the same name by Kathryn Stockett. In this film, an aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African American maids’ point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis. This film is rated PG-13 for thematic material and has a run time of 2 hours and 26 minutes. Feel free to bring in snacks to enjoy the movie and for additional information, contact staff at 325-437-7323.
