  1. Spring Break STEAM: Leaf Rubbings

    March 10, 2020, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM @ Children's Area

    Youth are invited to join your South Branch Library for more STEAM fun activities. Just because school is out for Spring Break, that doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun with hands-on activities that will get you thinking and keep you busy. We’ll offer a different project each day of Spring Break, and they’ll be located in the children’s area of the library. At this session, we’ll be showing you how to make your own Leaf Rubbings.   2. Snap Circuits

    Come catch a great afternoon activity featuring Snap Circuits which makes learning about electronics easy and fun! In this session, youth will build a project to make a light or make a spinner fly through the air. No experience is needed and we’ll supply all the tools you’ll need.     Tweens and teens are invited to be a part of the library’s Youth Chess Club, providing a great opportunity to learn and play chess in a supportive environment. At each session, youth will get the chance to socialize, learn about the club, develop skills and techniques for better play, watch demonstrations, and then try their hand at playing friendly games with their peers. Chess is a great game of strategy, and we invite you all to build up your skills at your library. Sessions will be hosted across all branch locations.     Toddler Times are a weekly storytime session aimed at youth ages 2-3, and parents. Led by children's staff at the library, these sessions will help prepare youth for longer stories in preparation for engaging in all other children's programming for older youth at the library such as Preschool Storytime, Family Fun, and Super Storytime events.
