  1. Crafty DIY: Soap Making

    It’s time for another session of Crafty DIY at your Main Library, the program where we offer great DIY projects for adults to come out and participate in. We supply all the materials for each session and they’re a great way to come out and learn something new, socialize with others, and have some fun at your library because crafting is fun for all ages. At this session, we’ll be making soap from scratch...it’s easier than you think and can have you wanting to go out and buy supplies and molds to make your own for your homes.   2. Free Tax Assistance

    March 11, 2020, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ 2nd Floor, Auditorium

    e-File your taxes for free with IRS-trained volunteers from the AARP through the annual Free Tax Assistance program running February 5 through April 11 at your Main Library and Mockingbird Branch locations. Guests are helped on a first-come, first-served basis and you should bring with you your Photo ID, Social Security Card, W-2s, a blank check, and all other tax materials you’ll need from 2019. Sessions will be hosted weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10AM to 3PM at your Main Library, Fridays and Saturdays at the Mockingbird Branch (same time). Sign-up for a spot starting at 9:30AM and continue to do so until all spots are filled. For more information, contact staff at 325-676-6025 or 325-437-7323.

  3. Spring Break STEAM: Tallest Tower with Two Materials

    Youth are invited to join your South Branch Library for more STEAM fun activities. Just because school is out for Spring Break, that doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun with hands-on activities that will get you thinking and keep you busy. We’ll offer a different project each day of Spring Break, and they’ll be located in the children’s area of the library.   4. Teen Tech: Sketching with Cue

    If you missed the first program featuring Cue, never fear, because we’re hosting another session to give local youth the opportunity to get hands-on with learning how the quirky little Cue bot can draw with a little help from you.     Baby Steps is a weekly storytime and activity series designed for parents to share with newborns up to age 1. At each session, stories, activities, and stimuli are presented along with parental participation. Follow along as children's staff help to guide you through a number of stimulating activities, while also getting the opportunity to socialize with other parents too.

  2. Head to Toes at Main Library

    The Head to Toes program is a weekly series designed for youth ages 2-5, as well as parents to engage in as well. This storytime series will focus on body recognition, gross motor skills, and all things head to toe. So get them up and moving and learning with us at the library.
