  1. Spring Break STEAM: LEGO Marble Run

    Youth are invited to join your South Branch Library for more STEAM fun activities. Just because school is out for Spring Break, that doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun with hands-on activities that will get you thinking and keep you busy. We’ll offer a different project each day of Spring Break, and they’ll be located in the children’s area of the library.   2. LEGO Galore

    Youth are invited out to your Mockingbird Branch Library for some LEGO Club fun. We’ll supply all the materials you’ll need to build whatever you can think of, and offer resources for all the different items you can build with these simple building blocks. We’ll spend the majority of the program working on our creations, and then we’ll reserve some time at the end of the program to admire what everyone has built.   3. Family Flix: "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil"

    Kids and parents are invited to join your South Branch Library for a great mid-morning movie. This time around, we’ll be watching the sequel to a hit Disney flick with 2019’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, and Michelle Pfeiffer. In this film, Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies, and dark new forces at play. This film is rated PG for intense sequences of fantasy action/videos and brief scary images, and has a run time of 2 hours.   4. Saturday Matinee: "Midway"

    Catch a great movie during the South Branch Library’s Saturday Matinee event where we play great hits. At this session we’ll be showing the 2019 history flick “Midway” starring Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, and Woody Harrelson. In this movie, it centers on the Battle of Midway, a clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the Pacific Theater during WWII. The film, based on the real-life events of this heroic feat, tells the story of the leaders and soldiers who used their instincts, fortitude, and bravery to overcome the odds. This film is rated PG-13 for sequences of war violence and related images, language, and smoking, and has a run time of 2 hours and 18 minutes.   5. Spring Planting with Juanita Campos

Since Spring is the time to start planting, we’re inviting you out for a Spring Planting workshop with master gardener Juanita Campos.
