    If you’re looking for some crafting fun, stop by your South Branch Library where we’ll be offering Take & Make kits featuring different craft activities each week while supplies last. Stop by from 10:00AM to 6:00PM and you can pick up your kit that has all of the materials and instructions you’ll need to then take home and make a fun craft to enjoy.   2. STEAM Stories: Jack 'O Lanterns

    Don’t miss the next STEAM Stories session at your Main Library where each event will feature a story kids will love, along with a STEAM activity, or demonstration, to go along with it. At this session, we can’t celebrate Halloween without Pumpkins so join us for a reading of “Froggy Picks a Pumpkin” and then we’ll supply the materials needed to show you how to build LEGO pumpkins. We’ll use your creations to decorate the library for the rest of the month, so we have our own pumpkin patch for guests to visit.

  3. Cover-to-Cover Book Club

    If you’re an avid reader, don’t pass up on being a part of the Cover-to-Cover Book Club at your Mockingbird Branch. Meeting on the third Thursday nights of each month, this group reads everything from fiction to nonfiction, classics to bestsellers. For this month, we’ll be discussing “Ordinary Grace” by William Kent Krueger, which is a bestselling title that won the Edgar Award for best novel in 2014, along with being the winner of the DILYS award too. Don’t pass up on being part of this club at your library.

  4. Open Mic Night

    October 21, 2021, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Meeting Room

    Don’t miss the next Open Mic Night session at your South Branch Library. Designed for all ages, this is the time where you can show off your talents and skills for a captivated audience. Whether you sing or dance, recite poetry or tell jokes, all are welcome to sign up for a spot to show your skills. Registration is required to attend and we limit each session to 11 performers each performing for up to 5 minutes. If there’s time left at the end of the program, we’ll take walk-ins as well. Be sure to visit our events calendar at and sign-up for a slot. We can’t wait to see you perform!

    During this month for Halloween, we’re hosting a special storytime that will get you in the mood for the season. We’re getting things spooky with talking about BATS!!! Through stories, songs, crafts, games, and more, everything’s going to be going a little batty at your library in this evening storytime event. We’ll supply all the materials you’ll need for our special craft project, you just be ready to come out and have a spooky good time.
