Origami of the Month

Join us at your Main Library for the next Origami of the Month event. Hosted on the first Wednesday of every month, each session will feature a new origami model for you to learn & create. This come-and-go event will last the entire day, and includes all the supplies and instructions necessary to fold your very own origami! The models will vary in difficulty, but all skill levels are welcome.

Coloring Club

If you’re in need of a little stress relief and relaxation, we invite you to be a part of the Coloring Club at your South Branch Library. Coloring is a great activity for all ages and there are many benefits that can come from taking some time to express yourself through art. We’ll supply the coloring sheets and tools so you can come out, color, socialize, and have a little fun at your library.

Common Threads: Knitting & Crochet Club

If you’re an adult who is into knitting and crocheting, this is the club for you. Join our Common Threads group where participants are encouraged to bring their current projects and gather for some socializing and learning about new and interesting techniques from each other about the world of yarn. See what projects we’re working on and show off some of your own to inspire others. It’s a fun knitting circle just waiting for you to join, and all skill levels are welcome to join us.

Brown Bag Virtual Book Club

If you’re looking to join a book club, but happen to be pressed for time, be a part of our monthly Brown Bag Book Club. We host sessions on the first Wednesdays of each month over the noon hour so you can enjoy lunch while engaging in a book discussion over Zoom. At this session we’ll be discussing John Grisham’s holiday read “Skipping Christmas,” which was later adapted into a film starring Tim Allen and Jaime Lee Curtis. Registration is required to attend this book club so that you can receive the needed link to be able to meetup with the rest of the group on the online platform. LEGO Club Junior

Youth are invited to join us for our monthly LEGO Club session at your South Branch Library. Hosted in the children’s area, we’ll supply you with a great selection of LEGO so you can use your creativity to build whatever you can imagine. Sometimes we’ll work on specific projects, or you can free design. Plus, work on projects solo, or team up with others to make something bigger. It’s all about just coming out and having fun at your library.

School Age STEAM Club

Youth are invited out to the library for STEAM fun. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics, and activities will be centered around having youth engage in critical thinking to complete various projects and activities. Each session will feature a different activity for youth to get involved in, and we’ll supply all the materials needed. Don’t miss out on this educational series at your library.

Teen LEGO Club

Teens are invited to join us for our monthly LEGO Club session at your South Branch and hosted in the Teen Room. We’ll bring out a selection of LEGOs so you can join up with friends, while making new ones, and work on projects together. Show off your creativity by seeing what you’re able to construct while working on themed projects or free designing. It’s all about spending an afternoon at your library having fun with other teens.

Polar Bear Crafts

Kids are invited out to the library for some quick crafting fun as we’ll be showing them how to make their own Polar Bears from paper. It’s head will spring off the page and you’ll be able to five your bear whatever face you’d like whether it be silly or serious. Then, design a fun wintry scene for your bear to live in. We’ll supply all the materials you’ll need, just come ready to have a little fun at your library before looking for some great books to checkout.
