    If it’s time for you to sign-up for Medicare, and you don’t know where to begin, be sure to register and attend a free Medicare Class at your Abilene Public Library. Multiple sessions will be hosted each month and led by specialists Jennifer Walter & Breanna Maichel. Each session will run up to 1-hour long and designed with the goal of providing seniors with the tools needed to be able to make the right decisions going into Medicare. From understanding the parts of Medicare to prescription drug plans, learning how to enroll to reviewing health plans, you’ll be sure to get all the answers you need.     Felt is a popular material for making handcrafted products such as bags, hats and other accessories. Textile artists also use felt in their art. Join us at the Main Library as Marcia Linnenkamp teaches us how to make our very own Felt Ornaments for the upcoming holiday season. We will supply all materials, so come ready with some friends to learn a new DIY skill that can be applied to a variety of crafts in the future.

  4. Mockingbird Movies: "The Muppets Christmas Carol"

At this session we’ll be watching 1992s “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” based on the classic tale by Charles Dickens. In this film, Ebenezer Scrooge, miser extraordinaire, is held accountable for his dastardly ways during night-time visitations by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Preset, and Future...along with the entire Muppets gang in tow. This film is rated G and has a run time of 1 hour and 25 minutes. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks to enjoy.
