  1. Free Tax Help

    April 15, 2021, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ 2nd Floor, Auditorium

    e-File your taxes for free with IRS-trained volunteers with the AARP. Four sessions will be hosted each week at your Main Library, running Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Face masks will be required for all who wish to participate and social distancing will be observed. Volunteers will register guests for available slots on a first-come, first-served basis, no registrations allowed. Be sure to bring all your tax materials, W-2’s, driver’s license or Photo ID, Social Security cards of everyone listed on your return, and a blank check (or know your banking information) if receiving a refund. Sessions will be offered through the end of tax season, and for additional information, contact staff at 325-676-6025 or visit our website online at www.abilenetx.gov/758/AARP-Free-Tax-Help.

  2. Take & Make Crafts

    April 15, 2021, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ South Branch Library

    The library wants to help you get your craft on. Join us every Thursday when you are welcome to come into the library and pick up a craft packet that you can Take & Make at home. Instructions and supplies are included, you just need to make it. We’ll have a different craft each Thursday, and they’ll be available all day while supplies last.   3. Tech Time

    April 15, 2021, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Teen Room

    As more people acquire smartphones, tablets, and laptops, you may find yourself needing a little help. Join us for Tech Time where the library’s tech gurus will be on hand to assist you with troubleshooting your technology issues. We may not have all the answers, but we’ll do our best to answer all your questions. Each guest will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to 25 minutes if people are waiting. For help that might take longer, you may also see about signing up for a 1-on-1 session at a different time so we may accommodate you better.   4. Cover-to-Cover Book Club

    Be a part of our Cover-to-Cover Book Club and enjoy a discussion group session with other avid readers in the community. The Mockingbird Branch is open once again and our book club will be moving to that new location and meeting in person from now on. April’s book club selection will be “Dogtripping: 25 Rescues, 11 Volunteers, and 3 RVs on Our Canine Cross-Country Adventure” by David Rosenfelt.   1. Mother Goose on the Loose at Main Library
