  2. Abilene Quilters Guild - Quilt Show

    Over 200 quilts and more than 22 vendors will gather to celebrate the art of quilting. Attendees on Friday will be able to vote for their favorite quilts. Ribbons will be awarded Friday evening. We will raffle off our "Nine Sisters" quilt to benefit the West Central Texas Food Bank of Abilene.

In this film, a fun-loving American bulldog pup, a hilarious Himalayan cat, and a wise old golden retriever embark on a long trek through the rugged wilderness of the Sierra Nevada mountains in a quest to reach home and their beloved owners. This film is rated G for all audiences and has a run time of 1 hour and 24 minutes. Light snacks will be served, or feel free to bring your own snacks to the show.     If it’s time for you to sign-up for Medicare, and you don’t know where to begin, be sure to register and attend a free Medicare Class at your Abilene Public Library. Multiple sessions will be hosted each month and led by specialist & Breanna Maichel. Each session will run up to 1-hour long and designed with the goal of providing seniors with the tools needed to be able to make the right decisions going into Medicare. From understanding the parts of Medicare to prescription drug plans, learning how to enroll to reviewing health plans, you’ll be sure to get all the answers you need. At this session we’ll be showing 2016’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” starring Eddie Redmayne in this Harry Potter spinoff series. In this film, the adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school. This film is rated PG-13 for some fantasy action violence and has a run time of 2 hours and 12 minutes. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy.
